wet through...
I’ve not long got in from walking around Gloucester in the rain for nearly an hour. no coat. frequent downpours. great fun! Myself and the legendary Steve Bullock walked around the ‘via sacra’, or Sacred Way, mapping some visual and historic high points for focal points that will, after much thought and work, become the latest edition in the Flicker Prayer events.
These events last year were based in the cathedral here, and open to youth in the whole county, involving loads of different people working together. This time, we’re going out to the streets and using our steps as our prayers, allowing God to speak to us and challenge, encourage and equip us by the simple things we see around every day life…this won’t actually be part of our little prayer pilgrimage, but it’s an example: it will include things like stopping at a bus stop, and reading the scripture “they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength” etc.
Of course, I’m not going to give away all our ideas on here! You’ll have to wait until we’re done. But I’m really looking forward to it.
I'm also looking forward to drying off and drinking a nice warm drink.
More to come.
