Just to say...
The Vicarage, we heard today, is not going to go ahead...
Which, before you get upset, is a good thing. Let me explain...
The house was causing a lot of concerns, to the point of leaving those interested to just myself and my wife! There were still possibilities, so we went ahead with a proposal to the Bishops Staff meeting anyway - along with a strong disclaimer that we were all seeking God's direction.
And, each of us, I believe were beginning to think that the building would take too much focus away from the heart of the lifestyle we want to explore...Have had some good encouragement from others about this too - that it may be right to go for it and not worry about the 'communal living' stuff at the mo...there's other stuff to be said here but I've got to be quick.
Anyway, just to say that yesterday I got to the point where I hoped that the answer the bishops would give us would match what we thought we'd discerned, and thankfully it did! Plus they've offered to keep talking to us and are very up for supporting this vision, maybe in a different venue, or no venue at all...
It's as exciting as ever.
...If not more.
