a rather long post script to the previous post...

its interesting how salt is used to stop people slipping all over the place, and God calls us to be the salt of the earth, is it a ministry to be trampled on?…heh.

If you’re the praying kind, I wanted to note a couple of things that are coming up soon but really felt they’d mess up the previous post, so I’ve started a new one just to highlight these points:

- we’re joining in with 24-7 Prayer’s week of prayer for Justice this week. Each day one of us is texting round a different aspect of justice - or injustice – that we can pray for. Local and global issues that desperately need God’s Kingdom to come and will be done on earth as in Heaven. Have a read and join in if you like. (Another good article with stories on the UK site here)

- on the vicar exploration front, I’m starting my first proper activity this week and it feels like I’m plunging in the deep-end cos I’ll be helping lead the whole service and also writing and reading the prayers. This means introducing the various parts of our worship, reading the gospel, being part of the procession and extolling everyone with what will probably be much relief at the end of our gathering with “Go, in the peace of Christ”!!

all of this process is still a whirling mix of emotions, ideas, dread and at times excitement.

- at the end of the month refresh we will be launching into this years activities with a worship gathering and the next stage of our focus on ‘who is this Jesus’. I’m sending personal invites to everyone on my list and hoping they will come. From then on the weekly prayer café will be up and run, plus a new adventure for small unity, prayer and discipleship groups to emerge, based on the mustard seed vow.

I’ve got no idea of the future of this venture, but believe in it whole heartedly. The continual cross-over from event-based unity to relational-based is always a struggle. But I’m hoping and praying this year will gain much flourishing growth into a new model that will probably mean less downward leadership from myself.

I’m just thinking off the top of my head here. I don’t really have a clue what I’m talking about!! Haha.

With all of this, my heart and prayers of the previous post are at the forefront of my mind, and balancing it all together is interesting. I just know that whatever I do, the important thing is that it’s birthed out of prayer.

So, there you go. There’s lots of other stuff too but that will all come out in due course. Thanks for your prayers and supplications. May they be a sweet fragrance to the Lord.
