emptied to be filled...

This week has been taken up by another prayer week in Bishops College. Very busy and very poignant, seeing as it looks very likely the school will be closed next week.

As well as this, I feel rather happy with myself at an achievement that's needed my attention for some time; an embarrassingly long list of people I need to write emails to. This week I've got it down to just over 10, after two months. After this week, I'm starting a new system and attitude with regard to email, and a summer with few events in the diary will begin. I pray it stays that way!

And so, for the spiritual among you, I've been back reading the Practice of the Presence of God by brother lawrence. I find it deeply challenging, and awe inspiring. I'll leave you with this.

"...I know the heart must be empty of all else, for God wishes to be its only possessor, and he cannot be its only possessor without emptying it of all that is not himself..."
