Jesus

Below is a reflection upon a couple of our bible studies recently that have really stuck with me. Our time thinking about why Jesus was sent (in his own words) and then the way he reacted to situations we sometimes find ourselves in has been pretty profound. This kinda reads like a poem, though it wasn't intended to be and probably needs reworking if it is, and it's definately not exhaustive.

You
Feed the hungry
Restore the damaged
Mend the broken hearted
Love the loveless
Have mercy on the merciless
Serve
Heal
Do good to wrongdoers
Open blind eyes
Reveal what is real
Find who are lost
See beauty in the ugly
Defend the accused
Embrace the cost
Endure
Stand up for truth
Declare good news
Live as God intended
Fulfil the Father’s heart
Do His will
Wait for the last
Hang out with the outcast
Play
Give life to the weak
Question people’s answers
Answer people’s questions
Stay faithful to the unfaithful
Have confidence in amateurs
Believe in no hopers
Celebrate with losers
Calm the worried
Call the weary
Choose the few

Your voice echoes through the ages
And you say “As the father sent me,
So I send you”
