Good to prayer walk again today. It's strange, as much as we do this to pray for Gloucester's benefit I find it personally really helpful to start the day in such a way. It's really good to just get my mind off me stuff and pray for others, for the city, for God to be at work in the life of the city.
Gloucester has a rich history of people who gave up everything to serve him wholeheartedly, laying down their lives (sometimes literally) for the good of His Kingdom. People like whitfield, wesley etc. The stories are inspiring. Can we allow Jesus to be himself when he lives in us? The only way is to be completely and utterly devoted to him, to not only serve him, but allow him to serve and transform others through us.
It was good to remember these guys as we prayed round the streets of Gloucester today.
