the last few days of last week ran away with themselves and I quickly got swamped with meetings, lack of time and things that got in the way of how the monday began.
the meetings were great though but still I'm finding it hard to keep on top of the ever growing to-do list. it was a blessing to go away to devon for a couple of days and chill by the coast. the sea air and the endless horizon of the ocean help put things in perspective. its a different pace of life. one thats easy to be envied!
but still, amidst the hussle and bussle, a new week has started and i'm still inspired and continue to be challenged by reading 'red moon rising', along with praying it through in the context of all the things that are going on here in Gloucester...i read this earlier...
we are the light of the world, but no one wants to stare at the light bulb. we are the salt of the earth, but a whole plate of the stuff will make you sick. The people of God are called to scatter and mix, to mingle and move, to influence from a position of weakness, like a small child in a large family, like yeast in a loaf....could it be that the Holy Spirit is weary of attending our meetings, and hungers for our presence at his?
the challenges this poses are vast, but so real and tangible. and convicting. i wonder how we will respond?
