my monday morning 'sit down with God' in the cathedral - that habit i was trying to get into - was somewhat interrupted today. In fact it didn't happen. I had a meeting planned for 'flicker' but jumped across and was surprised by the hussle and bussle. A bit freaked out by the many people there I exited as quickly as I'd entered.
I quickly learnt that loads of work is being done for filming probably 5 seconds of the latest Harry Potter movie...is it the last one? i dont know, but i'm glad if it is. I can't believe the amount of money thats spent on these movies - there were a fair few workers, a lot of wood protecting the frame of the cathedral, and i guess lots of equipment soon to pass through. Such a waste of money. And a waste of carpentry.
in my opinion. it'll just get thrown out after.
Over in Australia I watched part of the programme 'long way down', where Ewan McGreggor and his mate Charlie motorbike from London to South Africa - a great effort - but on the site of the poverty and simplicity and joy of people's lives in some African villages, I remember Ewan Mcgreggor saying, in a round about fashion, that when faced with that reality of life; multi million dollar movies seemed ridiculous.
huh.
Well, I dont want to make a habit of complaining instead.
On a high note. Our banner arrived today - a lovely vinyl thing promoting 'Hope for Gloucester', they did a great job. I know I shouldn't get quite so much joy over a banner, but it is a monday, and it's looks fab.
so there.
oh. and the flicker meeting was great. 25 prayer stations covered. not long to go now. the film company will still be hanging around in the cathedral when lots of praying will be happening. hehe.
