so, we got the car back. on monday. having written 'blah blah the car is still out of action'...hehe, that'll show me heh?! God is faithful.
Today, we endeavoured to hold a lunch for church leaders in Gloucester to have a closer look at the hope08 initiative and what it means for us as a city. I think it went well. The right folks turned up, in my opinion and it was good to see lots of very different people in one room eating lunch and chatting. winner.
excited about the year ahead too.
excellent to pray the Lord's prayer with such a group of people and real feel that everyone in the room meant it. Thank you Jesus.
It was also good to get a real feel of thanksgiving of the hope that we have already received from God, and the call to go and give it to others.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer says: 'Remembrance becomes the power of the present, because of the living God who once acted for me and reminds me of that today'
We always have to set our sights on Jesus first and realised that we are caught up in this amazing Kingdom of hope, love and eternity. Reminding ourselves of this challenges us and mobilises us to do something about it, to live on purpose for God and him alone.
