Justification...

I have just finished 'Justification - Gods Plan and Paul's Vision' by Tom Wright. And I have to say, it's brilliant. It really is brilliant. For my small brain I found it pretty difficult at times, and it's best read with a bible in hand, simply because of the abundance of scripture references.

This book, or at least it's message, in my view, is a really important perspective on the gospel and the message of the bible and reality as a whole. It deals brilliantly with our (the western church it appears) lack of attention to the significance of Israel's history and all it illuminates of the gospels and doctrines of our faith, taking us right back to the core message of why God created the creation and how he chose to put it right once we'd put it wrong. This is all intertwined with a beautiful thread of worship to Jesus throughout the whole book. A great read.

"Justification is not just about 'how I get my sins forgiven'. It is about how God creates, in the Messiah Jesus and in the power of his spirit, a single family, celebrating their once-for-all forgiveness and their assured 'no condemnation' in Christ, through whom his purposes can now be extended into the wider world."

P.S. Notice I linked to 'the Book Depository' for you to buy this book - I find the Book Depository way better than Amazon - and it's based here in Gloucester too ! Amazing!
