George Lings...

I heard of this guy called George Lings today. He's got a cool role in the church army as a speaker and trainer in church planting, fresh expressions and mission-shaped church. A talk of his was playing in the background of the office, and his words tugged on my ears as if I'd been hooked by a fishing line. I looked him up, and there's lots of good stuff he says and works towards. With 24/7 prayer communities and new monasticism lingering in my heart all the time at the moment, I liked this especially:

"Maybe New Monasticism is a crucial gift to the whole church in our time. Could it be of greater significance than most other fresh expressions of church because it invites us into deeper life in Christ? Does it also bring mission into its most healthy place - an overflow of an inner life energized by the Spirit?"

I aim to write more on this as time goes by.
