exciting times...

last night was special and needs special mention on the blog.

Although I can lay the beginnings of this life-changing stage of my life on my reading of 'red moon rising' last september (in fact I can see many glimpses of beginnings before that), and there has been a underlying sense, as if like an underground flowing stream, of God's call and the vision of starting a prayer community house thing - last night saw a big milestone in the journey. The stream broke ground and burst into the open.

Back in January we invited some friends to come and live with us. To devote ourselves to a daily rhythm of prayer and mission, and see what happened. Since then we've plodded along carefully. But last night every member whos been involved til now with an interest of jumping into this little stream got together.

I was nervous as people arrived. but as the last ones came through the door, the sense of 'this is very exciting' began to bubble inside. and then increased. and increased.

we seamlessly chatted, laughed, dreamed, enjoyed Jesus, ate pudding and drank cofee and tea, prayed, explored in vision-mode, and wrestled in practical mode. friends were made. our dreams began to take form in our midst. we committed to follow God wherever he might take us...

so next week we're gonna experiment with a week of prayer and community. We'll talk some more, we'll put stuff into practise, question and conspire, and of course, pray. I'll blog our experiences.
