andy and jack came over again for prayer this morning. with sleepy eyes we prayed and entered into the day that the Lord has made and had been at work for over 7 hours already. the sense of the Lord's presence with us was refreshing.
maybe we'll turn this into a daily thing?
!
If we're truly going to explore being a praying community expressing full devotion, holiness, flexible hospitable openness, selfless Christ-centred, Christ-like, Christ-revealing life at the centre and at the seams, then we have a long way to go.
But steps have to be made.
I went over the idea of 'incarnation' yesturday with Richard from the Bizz - we get together regularly to chat through the projects i'm involved in, and the dreams that we're heading towards in terms of prayer. The whole idea of living Jesus' life and not my own is still bending my brain into a big question mark, as it raises so many questions and challenges, but it's steadily becomming a fundemental value and picture of holiness and practise of his presence, cos to live outside of Jesus' life is to live my way, in my strength, with my ideas and my desires; which always end up failing, and in a way become an idol. but to lose this and live in Jesus' strength, ideas, words and desires, incarnation can truly happen and be made real. incarnation in this sense is true worship - a way of making Jesus our highest priority in absolutely every thing, which allows him to live through us in every way...another reason why loving God and accepting to be loved by God is the most important thing.
pretty ace really. when I think these things through, the picture above represents for me the enormity of it all. yet, at the same time, its very simple. i like it a lot.
