café

we started the weekly gathering for young people in the city centre yesterday. this has been somewhat on and off over the past year (bewilderingly), and I still don't feel settled with it. the idea is to create a sacred space where youth can 'chill in the presence of friends, God, coffee and cake'...

For some reason I constantly question if this is right or not, and low numbers doesn't really help with that. we'll be reassessing it during the next school break, trying to figure out what God would have us do.

[heh, and yet, he always just tells us to 'be'...the doing is always a bi-product.]

Anyway. On the plus side, it was actually wonderful yesterday. the church we base it in has dreams of starting a homework club on the side, which sounds exciting - maybe this will shape whatever's to come when we dream and conspire during easter.

The very special thing from yesterday was having an awesome conversation with John Allison, who travels back to the U.S.A this weekend, finishing off his internship with Burn24-7 (who are worth looking at). His blog is linked on the right - and his stories are epic. And his heart for the Lord and his Kingdom is infectious.
